Duration: 8 weeks. The Graduate Record Exam (GRE), is a verbal and quantitative test for graduate school aspirants in the Humanities and the Sciences subjects. It is one of the most important requirements that admissions officers look for when deciding whether to accept applications or not. The GRE is a computer based and computer adaptive test that is offered on numerous dates around the year in the testing center at the U.S. Education Foundation at Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu. This is the most important criterion for a merit-based scholarship that will be so helpful in reducing, and perhaps, altogether eliminating, your study expenses in the United States
The GRE format and question types
- The Verbal Reasoning Section
This section has 30 questions and a time of 30 minutes. The question types are Analogies, Sentence Completions, Critical Reading and Antonyms
- The Quantitative Reasoning Section
This section has 28 questions to be solved in 45 minutes and the question types are mathematically based
- The Analytical Writing Section
This section lasts for 75 minutes and the test taker is required to write 2 essays within the given time frame. The first is on the Analysis of an Issue, for which s/he is allotted 45 minutes and the second is on the Analysis of an Argument, for which only 30 minutes is permitted.The essays must be typed on a computer.
